House Democrats are escalating their attacks following the guilty verdict in the Karmelo Anthony case, alleging racial bias and an all-white jury were instrumental in the conviction. This narrative, amplified by activists, claims the verdict exposes systemic racism within the criminal justice system.

“A travesty, two lives ruined, and what struck me most is that you had an all-white jury,” stated Rep. Christian Menefee, D-Texas, who also claimed “preemptive strikes” were used to ensure a predominantly white jury. Anthony was sentenced to 35 years for the stabbing death of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf.
