FIRST ON FOX: DOJ Sues Spanberger’s Virginia Over Federal Agent Mask Ban, ICE Laws
FIRST ON FOX: The Justice Department (DOJ) has filed a lawsuit against the Commonwealth of Virginia on Thursday, challenging two new state laws that the DOJ asserts would subject masked federal agents to criminal penalties and jeopardize vital local ICE cooperation agreements. These policies, signed by Democratic Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger, are set to take effect on July 1.
“Law enforcement officers risk their lives every day to keep Americans safe, and they do not deserve to be doxed or harassed simply for carrying out their duties,” stated acting Attorney General Todd Blanche in exclusive comments provided to Fox News Digital. He added, “Virginia’s anti-law enforcement policies regulate the federal government and are designed to create risk for our agents. These laws cannot stand.”
